Nightjar Experience Walk
An evening walk at Parc Cwm Darran, South Wales in search of the magical Nightjar.
Goatsucker… Fern Owl… The Wheeler… the Nightjar has been the subject of myths and folktales for generations. And it’s not surprising.
With their mechanical churring call, cryptic plumage, and nocturnal displays the Nightjar is one of the UK’s most unusual (and most elusive) birds.
Join our expert local guides on a warm summer’s evening in South Wales, at the foot of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). As nightfall beckons, the landscape comes alive with churring Nightjars. Just before darkness, we’ll watch them take flight, wing-clapping above us.
Throughout the walk we’ll also be keeping our eyes peeled for Barn owls, Tawny Owls, Bats, and possibly even Badgers.
