On our journey to Cork from Fishguard, this will offer you incredible views of seabirds and cetaceans. Our guide will be on look out to get you the best views of wildlife throughout your tour. You’ll be staying at the Inchydoney Island Hotel, a beautiful Lodge and Spa that overlooks the sea and nearby estuary. There’ll be amazing opportunities to view waders and seabirds.

Day One

We’ll begin our trip by meeting at Fishguard Harbour, ready to embark on our ferry crossing to Rosslare. We’ll be hoping to see dolphins and whales on our way to Cork from the Ferry. When we arrive, we’ll drive towards Cork, stopping at some iconic birding locations along the way. We’ll check into our hotel and explore the the wildlife around our base.

Day Two

The Old Head of Kinsale will be our first marine journey as we take a short two hour trip taking in the culture and history of Kinsale. We’ll be searching the rocks and cliff faces for breeding Fulmar, Guillemots and Razorbills. Kittiwakes will also be heard shouting from the cliffs. The afternoon will be available for any upgrades wishing to be added, alternatively we will be exploring the headlands looking for various wildlife and birds, including Otters.

Day Three

Beginning our day again at sea, we will join a four hour journey ready to look for dolphins and whales offshore. When we leave Courtmacsherry harbour, which is a designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC) for birds habitat. Depending on the most recent sightings, we venture either West to the Seven Heads or East towards the Old Head of Kinsale. According to data from the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG), this area is one of the best areas on the Irish coast to encounter whales and dolphins. This is also a prime location to look for Basking Sharks. The afternoon will be spent looking and exploring the headlands for offshore marine life, after enjoying a delicious lunch from the local cafes.

Day Four

On our final morning, we’ll explore more birding spots on our way back to Rosslare and then return on a Ferry to Fishguard. We’ll search the seas again on our return.
The tour will remain flexible and sites can change depending on species sighting, weather and time of year.

He is a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s nature comedy show Nature Table, he has appeared on BBC One’s Countryfile showcasing the reintroduction of pine martens into the Forest of Dean.
