Mint Mojitos and Mint No-jito Mocktail
Perfect for those summer evenings in the garden, or when you want a fresh, minty pick-me-up. A home-grown Mint Mojito is the best way to cool down. You’ll perk right up with this minty delight!
To make this marvelous minty mojito, you’ll need a few of your own home-grown mint leaves from your From Nature Plant. Add 3 mint leaves for a subtle flavour or 10 leaves for a powerfully fresh kick.
Ingredients List
Lemon or Lime juice (25ml)
White Rum (50ml)
Granulated Sugar (2 tsp)
Mint leaves (3 to 10 mint leaves)
Club soda (75-100ml)
A few ice cubes
Growing Tips & Tricks
When harvesting leaves from your mint pant, remember to ‘pinch’ the end of the plant above 2 leaves. This will help the mint grow a new stem in place of the old one.
Method:
- In a glass, combine the lemon or lime juice and the sugar. Add your mint leaves and press them firmly in the glass using a muddler or the end of a rolling pin. This helps them to release their oils and fragrance.
- Add your rum and then fill your glass to about half way with ice. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Top up your glass with club soda and stir to combine. Add more ice and a sprig of mint for show.
And you’re done! Pair your Mint Mojito with a warm summer’s evening outside for a delightful minty get-away.
Feeling fancy?
You could add a cucumber swirl or a slice of lime to your cocktail. You can grow your own cucumbers for this too and these plants do well in sunny patios and climbing structures.
Fancy a mocktail? Try a No-jito Mocktail!
- In a glass, combine the lemon or lime juice and the sugar. Add your mint leaves, (you can add as many as you’d like. 10 mint leaves gives you a powerful kick), and press them firmly in the glass using a muddler or the end of a rolling pin. Squashing them helps them to release their oils and fragrance.
- Fill your glass to about half way with ice. Here, you could add Alcohol free Rum or just leave it out. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Top up your glass with club soda and stir to combine. You can add more ice and a sprig of mint for show.
