Mint Syrup in a glass

All you’ll need is fresh mint leaves, water and sugar. Add plenty of mint leaves, maybe 10 or 12, to give a powerfully fresh kick to this delicious Mint Syrup. Add it to your Mint Mojito to make it a cocktail to remember.

Ingredients List

Mint leaves (10-12)
Water (200ml)
Sugar (200g)

Growing Tips & Tricks

When harvesting leaves from your mint pant, remember to ‘pinch’ the end of the plant above 2 leaves. This will help the mint grow a new stem in place of the old one.

  1. Chop with a knife or crush your mint leaves with a rolling pin to release their flavour.
  2. Add water to the pan and put on a medium heat. Add the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the chopped or rolled mint leaves.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the temperature and leave it to simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture into a jug and let cool.
  6. Once cool, pop it into a jar or bottle and save it as a simple syrup to add to cocktails, mocktails and cordials.

And you’re done! This minty syrup goes really well in a Lemonade. Just add a dash of this syrup to freshen up a glass of pop!

Feeling fancy?
You could add a few leaves of basil to your lemonades, cocktails, mocktails and cordial as this herb pairs really well with mint.
