Brew your own Mint Tea

Perfect all year round for a soothing mint delight. You’ve not tasted mint tea until you’ve sipped hot water with your own freshly cut mint leaves.

Fresh mint tea with freshly cut leaves from a mint plant in a clear mug

For this mint tea soother, you’ll need a few of your own home-grown mint leaves from your From Nature Plant. Add 3 mint leaves for a more subtle flavour or 10 leaves for a powerfully fresh kick.

Ingredients List

Freshly boiled water
3-10 mint leaves from your From Nature Mint Plant
A squeeze of lemon (optional)

Growing Tips & Tricks

When harvesting leaves from your mint pant, remember to ‘pinch’ the end of the plant above 2 leaves. This will help the mint grow a new stem in place of the old one.

Keep your mint plant’s soil damp, watering once every 3-4 days in the summer and once every 9 days in the winter. Test your soil by pointing your finger, about a knuckle deep, into the soil. If it comes out dry, it’s time to give your mint plant a drink.

  1. Take a few washed mint leaves, 3 for a gently soothing tea or 10 for a invigorating flavour.
  2. Take a sharp knife and chop your leaves into small pieces. You could also crush and roll them with a rolling pin to help them release their flavour and fragrance.
  3. You can place your leaves inside a mug for a strong flavour or inside a tea strainer or a mesh tea diffuser.
  4. Pour boiling water over the top and let steep for about 5 minutes. This gives the leaves enough time to release their flavour.

And you’re done! You could add a dash of lemon for a citrus kick or leave it plain.

Too hot for tea?
You can brew your mint tea and let it cool completely for about half hour. This will make a strong, flavourful tea. You can serve this over ice to give yourself a wonderfully cooling and minty drink.
